Krispy Kreme Car Show and Meet 2003

Two dozen Cruisers attended our second attempt to have a dry car show at Krispy Kreme. The week before it rained on us although over 30 PTs still showed up despite the weather. This time we lucked out and the rain held out for most of the day.
The folks at Krispy Kreme were delighted to see so many PTs in their parking lot for a second week in a row.
They were very nice in giving us unlimited free donuts all day. They even set up a special donut Dipping Station for us so the kids (both young and old) can experience the fun of dipping their own donut in chocolate sauce and sprinkles. Yum!
Our original plans were to have a barbecue afterwards at Windward Beach Park on
the Metedeconk River.
This riverfront park is a great place for a picnic.
Not only do they have a great scenic view but there are
numerous activity areas such as Boccie Courts and Horseshoe Pits.
Restroom facilities, picnic areas, showers, a fishing pier and several
playground areas make this a favorite spot for all. But with the cooler than normal temps and the light rain that moved in, we cancelled the picnic.
But some of us cruised over to the park anyway to take some pictures.
We then decided to have a late lunch over at the Pilot House restaurant where we could still enjoy the company of our cruiser friends while staying warm and dry and enjoying great views of the river just outside.
Congratulations to Sandra Prell from New Jersey in winning the "Best of Show" trophy and to Joseph Cafarelli from New York in winning our "Director's Choice" trophy.
A special thanks goes out to Scott and his Krispy Kreme crew for being so accomodating to all of us!
